What the water curtain does

In wet painting part of the paint leaving the gun never reaches the part; it stays suspended in the air. The water curtain captures that overspray, with a stated capture rate of 99%. The water runs in a closed circuit, so a constant fresh supply is not needed. The result works both ways: workshop air stays clean and paint mist does not settle on neighbouring surfaces. In a shop working with solvent-based systems, this also underpins safety and measured air values.

Which paints it handles

The booth is compatible with 1K, 2K, PU, epoxy and acrylic paints, and can be used with both solvent-based and water-based systems. That flexibility matters for shops working to different customer specifications — the same booth can run an epoxy primer today and a PU topcoat tomorrow. Size is built to order: the largest part, the working allowance the operator needs to move comfortably and the required air flow are calculated together.

Lighting is a quality requirement, not a comfort

In wet painting, defects are caught by eye; runs, orange peel and dust inclusions that are not seen while the paint is wet are expensive to correct once dry. Our booths use LED lighting above 600 lux. The floor is an anti-static grating, which both keeps the downward air flow even and prevents static build-up.

Explosion safety and maintenance

When working with solvent-based paints the booth is assessed under ATEX Zone 2. This is not an accessory added later but a requirement built into the design from the start. Routine maintenance covers water level and circulation checks, sludge removal and fan inspection. The product carries a 2-year warranty.

The operating side of a wet paint booth

Once installed, a water curtain booth has two routine tasks: checking water level and circulation, and removing accumulated sludge. Both are simple, but when neglected the capture efficiency drops and the booth stops doing its job — which shows up in workshop air and surface quality. If you work with solvent-based systems, ATEX scope and the anti-static floor must be right from the start; they are not accessories added later.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is a water curtain booth needed?

In wet painting, overspray is captured by the water curtain, with a stated capture rate of 99%. The water runs in a closed circuit, keeping workshop air clean and preventing paint mist from spreading.

Which paints can be used?

The booth is compatible with 1K, 2K, PU, epoxy and acrylic paints, and can be used with both solvent-based and water-based systems.

Is the booth a standard size?

No, the size is built to order. The largest part, the operator working allowance and the required air flow are calculated together.

Why does booth lighting matter?

In wet painting, defects are caught by eye. Our booths use LED lighting above 600 lux; under poor light, runs and orange peel are only noticed after the oven, where correction is expensive.

Is explosion safety covered?

The booth is assessed under ATEX Zone 2 and the floor is an anti-static grating. Neither point should be skipped when working with solvent-based paints.
