What work it is enough for

A manual set suits small and medium batches, sampling and touch-up work. The gun weighs 250 g; it does not tire the operator over a long shift and gives good hand control on complex geometries. Standard cable length is 5 metres. In high-volume production, however, a manual set becomes the bottleneck: that is where an automatic booth, a conveyor and a multi-gun arrangement are needed. The unit is compatible with all powder coating brands.

What the kV and current settings do

The unit is adjustable from 0 to 100 kV, with current between 0 and 150 µA. High kV works efficiently on flat, wide surfaces. On cornered, deep and concave parts, however, high kV amplifies the Faraday cage effect: powder cannot enter the corner and piles up on the outer surface. In that case kV is reduced and the work is done with current control. Powder output is adjustable between 0.5 and 10 l/min; film thickness is managed from there.

Is the unit enough on its own

The unit applies the coating, but powder gains no durability until it is cured in an oven — uncured powder scratches off with a fingernail. A complete result needs three parts working together: the booth (powder control and recovery), the unit (application) and the oven (curing). We also supply the three as a single package; for anyone setting up a workshop from scratch, that is usually the right start.

The dry air requirement

The most common cause of defects we see is not the unit but the air line. A powder gun needs dry, clean air; a compressor alone is not enough, a dryer and filters are mandatory. Moisture in the air disturbs powder fluidity and comes back as spitting, poor adhesion and uneven film thickness — and the fault is usually looked for in the unit. The product carries a 2-year warranty.

When to move from a manual set to automatic

The decision point is usually this: once you start running the same part above a certain daily count, the variability in the operator's hand turns into a quality problem — film thickness varies from part to part and waste rises. Past that threshold, an automatic booth and conveyor bring both repeatability and speed. The manual set is not discarded after that move; it stays in hand for touch-ups, samples and difficult geometries.
